      Our Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons are on the cutting edge of medical knowledge and our patients can have complete trust in their care and expertise. AFIC-NIHD's nationally recognized teaching programs, affiliated with the PMDC and other academic institutions, continually raise the quality of our medical care. Our programs attract medical students, interns and residents, and allied health professionals from all parts of Pakistan and beyond.

       I also take great pleasure in informing you that AFIC-NIHD has been ISO 9001:2000 certified. AFIC-NIHD has become the first Armed Forces/Government hospital to be ISO Certified. I congratulate the AFIC-NIHD community on this accomplishment.

      AFIC/NIHD has also taken a giant leap by collaborating with International Children Heart Foundation (ICHF) based in Memphis, USA to upgrade all aspects of paediatric cardiac services in Pakistan. In this regard an ICHF team of fifteen members comprising highly professional and respected experts in their field will visit AFIC / NIHD every three month for at least three years. AFIC/NIHD has successfully conducted four such trips so far with more than 75 patients being operated for highly complex congenital heart lesions. This program will certainly help AFIC /NIHD to emerge as an international institute of repute in coming years.
